If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
1 Corinthians 13:1-7 NLT
God is love. Could you imagine a love that gives you enlightenment, encouragement, protection, kindness, peace, and sacrifices Himself for your salvation (John 3:16)? He embodies the full truth of love. No other love can provide a perfect love that will make you feel safe, or that makes you feel as though you matter at all times, or like you are the only one that is loved in this special way in the world, or when you feel alone, He can lift you out of anything! This is true love! Stop seeking for love in a person. A true, righteous, and perfect love can be found in God. True love can also be found in you too. How? Let’s all try to be the representation of God’s genuine love as 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 explains how true love is demonstrated. Love is not only on Valentine’s day, it is everyday! ❤
Prayer: Thank you God for love us so much. Thank you for sending your only son, Jesus, who sacrificed himself on the cross for our sins and our salvation. Thank you for your enlightenment, encouragement, protection, kindness, and peace through your Word, the Bible. May we demonstrate true love to others not only on Valentine’s day but everyday. In Jesus name, amen!
