You Are Worth Nice Things!

Have you ever thought of what you are worth? Not in dollar signs, but you as a person. Sometimes we are so busy taking care of others, busy at work, in ministry, volunteering, or just don’t have the time for yourself to reflect on all God has done for you… you forget your worth. For example, have you gone to a store and bought a gift for someone and thought, “I would like that” but bought it for that person because it’s a good gift for someone else? Moms and dads out there, you put things in the cart to then put it back so you can stay within “the budget”, but buy stuff for the kids because they’ll enjoy it? Why do we do that?

Good news! God thinks of you every day He thinks you are more precious than rubies. (Proverb 3:15 NIV) Why don’t we see ourselves that way? We must fuel ourselves with the Word of God (the Bible) and actually see how He sees us. According to Romans 8:39 it says, “neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  He loves you that much!!

Our value comes from the Lord. You are worth nice things like pleasant words, pure affections, a loving embrace, positive encouragement, a thoughtful out-of-the-blue gift, etc. In Philippians 4:8 NIV it says, “…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” This is a reminder that you are worth lives breathe today and that “you are fearfully and wonderfully made”!  (Psalm 149:14 NIV) ❤

PS: Go back to the store and get yourself a little something that will put a smile on your face and a skip in your step. It doesn’t matter how inexpensive or expensive it is. You are worth it!😊

Prayer:  Thank you Father in heaven for thinking so highly of me even if I don’t deserve it. Thank you for thinking of me everyday eve though I feel I am not worth it at times. Thank you for your constant reminder in Your Word (the Bible) that you love me and accept me as I am.  In Jesus name, amen.
